BR’s contributing editor, Stephen J. Patterson (“Jesus Lives!”) is associate professor of New Testament at Eden Theological Seminary, in St. Louis. In 1998, he published his major contribution to the ongoing search for the historical Jesus: The God of Jesus: The Historical Jesus & the Search for Meaning (Trinity Press Intl.) His most recent book is Beyond the Passion (Fortress, 2004).
Marcus J. Borg (“The Search Begins”) holds the Hundere Chair in Religion and Culture in the Philosophy Department at Oregon State University. He is the author of 12 books, including the bestselling Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time (Harper San Francisco, 1994).
John Dominic Crossan (“A Woman Equal to Paul”) is Professor Emeritus of Religious Studies at DePaul University in Chicago. He has written more than 20 books on the historical Jesus in the last 30 years. Most recently, he has cowritten, with archaeologist Jonathan L. Reed, Excavating Jesus (2001) and In Search of Paul (2004), both published by Harper San Francisco.
