Richard Elliott Friedman (“Ancient Biblical Interpreters vs. Archaeology & Modern Scholars,) is Davis Professor of Jewish Studies, University of Georgia, and Katzin Professor of Jewish Civilization Emeritus, University of California, San Diego. He is author of Who Wrote the Bible? (Harper San Francisco) and Commentary on the Torah (Harper San Francisco).

Tina Niemi (“The Life of the Dead Sea,”) is associate professor and geologist at the University of Missouri—Kansas City. She specializes in the environmental and climatic changes along active fault zones and archaeological sites. She is co-editor, with Zvi Ben-Avraham and Joel R. Gat, of The Dead Sea: The Lake and Its Setting (Oxford Univ. Press).
