What happened to the Etruscans? Etruscan portrait sculptures, such as the second-century B.C.E. terracotta bust shown here, reveal remarkable similarities between ancient Etruscans and modern-day Tuscans. The Etruscan people, unlike Etruscan culture, never truly died out (compare with photo of Tomb of the Aninas).
