Just a few years ago, authors Giorgio Buccellati and Marilyn Kelly-Buccellati found tiny seal impressions stamped with the place-name “Urkesh” at Tell Mozan (shown here, looking from the north; compare with photo of bronze foundation peg), in northern Syria, confirming the existence and the location of the Hurrian city of myth.
