A plan of Jerusalem during the late Judean monarchy. Hezekiah’s Tunnel winds its way underground from the Spring Gihon (outside the city wall) to the Siloam Pool. The tunnel passes beneath the original small Jebusite city which became known as the City of David after David captured it. The wall enclosing the Siloam Pool was added in the eighth century, probably by King Hezekiah. The double line below the “Mishneh” marks the present southern wall of the Old City.
