Steel pillars sunk in concrete stand against the western wall of the Temple Mount and support the ceiling of the Rabbinical Tunnel. The concrete retaining wall and the heavily reinforced concrete ceilings complete the exceptionally strong support measures taken to prevent any damage by the excavation to the foundations of buildings standing above the tunnel.
