Faience rhyton covered with a thick layer of blue enamel. Galloping animals decorate the top register; below are an animated hunting scene and vertical running spirals. Discovered at Kition on the southeastern coast of Cyprus, this 10.5 inch high ceremonial drinking vessel dates to the second half of the 13th century B.C., when copper mining and trade with countries from east and west brought prosperity to Cyprus.
