Dramatic courtyards and multiple skylights distinguish the contemporary museum design commissioned by Elie Borowski to house his Lands of the Bible Collection—artifacts dating from 5000 B.C. to 500 A.D. The Bible Lands Museum will occupy a site between the Israel Museum and the Hebrew University’s Givat Ram campus in Jerusalem. Gideon Shomron, distinguished Israeli diplomat who served in London, Moscow, Stockholm, and, most recently, Washington, D.C., has been chosen director of the proposed museum.
