Robinson’s Arch: Robinson’s Arch (7) was assumed to be the first of several supporting a bridge over the Tyropoeon Valley from the Temple Mount to the Upper City, similar to the bridge that began at Wilson’s Arch (3). Before excavation, only a trace of an arch’s spring, jutting from the deeply buried western wall, hinted at the original Herodian structure. See photograph of excavation.
