Robinson’s Arch: Excavation uncovered the full extent of the arch’s spring, the protruding stones halfway up the wall at left, but failed to find the piers that would have supported a bridge across the valley. Instead, the archaeologists discovered a series of piers of graduated height in a north-south line south of Robinson’s Arch. The piers were supports for the arches of a monumental stairway, which led up from the main street in the valley and then turned right to the entrance to the Royal Stoa. See reconstruction drawing.
