ON THE COVER: Beaming with the thrill of discovery, Courtney Mosher, a student at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana, holds up an Iron Age II (1000–586 B.C.) clay bead that she found while excavating beneath a four-chambered city gate discovered recently at Bethsaida. The bead’s purpose is unknown; Courtney’s, however, is clear: Discovery. You, too, can enjoy the same thrill by volunteering at an excavation. “Digs 2005” gives you all the details on how to join in the process of discovery.
