Cut into the rock along the Kidron Valley, the tomb of the Bene Hezir family is another example of a rock-hewn tomb with Hellenistic features. Cut out of solid rock, the tomb is decorated with two Doric columns and a carved lintel. The tomb belonged to a wealthy family of priests mentioned in 1 Chronicles 24:15 and Nehemiah 10:20.
