A baker’s pair, two round holes set into the bakery floor functioned as ovens. Located west of the Temple Mount near its southern end and dating to the time of Aelia Capitolina, the ovens were paved with Xth Legion-stamped bricks. The Xth Legion impressions, repeatedly found in this area, support the theory of a Roman military establishment near and on the Temple Mount.
