Hidden in caves for 2,000 years near the ruins of Qumran, hundreds of ancient scrolls, known as the Dead Sea Scrolls, contained Biblical manuscripts as well as previously unknown sectarian texts that were first brought to light by Bedouin in the late 1940s and 1950s.
