A dining room and well-stocked pantry have been recovered at Qumran, testifying to communal dining. The two rooms are connected, with the pantry boasting 708 bowls, 210 plates (some of which are shown), 75 beakers and 21 small jars. These simple, wheel-made vessels provide evidence that large group meals took place here.
