AMATUER ARCHAEOLOGISTS. In the 1880s, the nuns of the Sisters of Nazareth Convent discovered an ancient cistern, and this led to a series of archaeological discoveries. The nuns, workmen and even school children undertook amateur excavations. The nuns then housed a collection of finds in a small museum. Pictured here is a glass bead.
