“Another menorah!” exclaimed Yehoshua (Yeshu) Dray as he looked at the underside of this decorated ashlar. Dray, an expert in reconstruction and restoration of ancient sites and devices, is responsible, alongside Chaim Ben David, for the anastylosis (restoration of original pieces) of the Um el-Kanatir synagogue.
