The Israelite palace at Samaria probably had a Window of Appearances, a window in an upper story of the palace for royalty to show themselves to the people assembled below, akin to the window depicted in a scene from Amarna, Egypt, which shows the Egyptian king Akhenaten and his wife Nefertiti standing in a palace window (painted reconstruction).
