The crocodile-headed god Sobek extends the sign of life (ankh) to Pharaoh Amenophis III (1390–1352 B.C.E.), the father of Akhenaten. Unlike his son, Amenophis III worshiped many gods, including Sobek, depicted here in a 9-foot-high alabaster statue, now in the Luxor Museum.
