Incense Shovels from Tel Dan: A bowl buried in the hole next to the altar in the lishkah at Tel Dan contained ashes, probably from incense offerings, and nearby lay three iron incense shovels. This, along with other finds at the Dan shrine, suggests the cultic character of the site.
