Scant remains from the foundation of this huge temple and one lonely column can be seen in the foreground of this photo. A veritable forest of columns—127, each 60 feet high—stood in the temple that Paul saw. Over 360 feet long and 180 feet wide, the Artemis temple was considered one of the ancient world’s “seven wonders.”
