“I saw three foul spirits like frogs coming from the mouths of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet” (Revelation 16:13). In this three-dimensional painting, contemporary artist Devi Anne Moore captures the surreal horror of John’s vision of the three demonic spirits who are sent to assemble the kings of the world for the great battle at Armageddon.

The word “Armageddon” occurs only once in the Bible—here, in association with the three foul spirits. Yet, for all its uniqueness, Cline argues that the derivation of the word is straightforward enough. “Armageddon,” he writes, comes from the Hebrew Har Megiddon, which means “Mount of Megiddo.”
